RIAA filter

The main difference between CD and vinyl records is that the information contained in the grooves of the latter do not correspond exactly to the recorded track.

During the etching process, in fact very low frequencies are attenuated and almost lost: no need then to a stage of equalization that "restoration" sound in real time to balance everything.

In 1964, the RIAA (Recording Industries Association of America) began to develop a standard EQ curve to implement the circuit of PHONO all plants.

This curve, as well as enhance the bass, it attenuates the high frequency gently, giving vinyl records its characteristic sound.
